About LM Security

Built by an engineer who also picks locks.

LM Security exists because the most dangerous gaps sit between the physical and the digital — and very few people are trained to see both.

Meet Michael Stevenson

LM Security was founded by Michael R. Stevenson, a technology engineer and locksmith who has spent his career figuring out how systems really work — and how they break.

Michael's path into security started far from a server room. He grew up fast: his mother was 14 when he was born, and in December 1982 a catastrophic flood wiped out his family's home along with the entire town of Times Beach, Missouri. By his late teens he was living on the streets of Tustin, California, sleeping on a park bench for nearly six months.

Getting off the street meant learning to rebuild everything from the ground up, starting with his own mindset. He taught himself to program and built a career as a computer programmer and software engineer in the IT industry, eventually founding Liquid Mirror, a software company whose tools included system-monitoring utilities that watched Windows file systems and network shares for changes — security work before he called it that.

A firewall can't stop someone who walks into the server closet. A deadbolt can't stop someone with stolen credentials. Real security needs both.

The human layer

Alongside his engineering work, Michael became one of the most recognized trainers in the world of human influence. He is a certified Master Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy and TIME Techniques™, the best-selling author of Learn Hypnosis… Now!, and the founder of Transform Destiny, whose events and courses have reached thousands of people.

That background is unusual in security — and it's an advantage. Social engineering is simply influence used for the wrong reasons. Michael understands exactly how pretexts, urgency and rapport are used to talk people past a front desk or into clicking a link, which makes LM Security's social engineering tests realistic and its training genuinely useful.

From code to cylinders

As a locksmith, Michael brings the same curiosity to pins, cylinders, safes and access control that he brings to code. He knows that a firewall is worthless if someone can walk into the server closet, and that a high-security lock means little if the badge reader beside it can be cloned in seconds.

LM Security brings those worlds together: one team that can rekey your doors, install your cameras, harden your network and then test the whole thing the way a real attacker would. Michael leads engagements personally as the company's Senior Security Consultant.
